2014年以降、ヨーロッパの非英語圏に大学留学する人が右肩上がりに増えてきた。北米やオセアニア、英国に留学するには費用が足りないという人に、ヨーロッパで英語で学べる選択肢が他にもあるのはありがたい。
学費が高いアメリカ、英国を除くと、大学レベルの教育の総合評価が高いのは、ドイツとオランダ。経済大国で良質な研究大学が多いのはドイツだけど、「学士過程を英語で学ぶ」という条件が入ると、総合力で上回るドイツではなく、オランダが3番手になる。
オランダ留学のいいところは、英語教育が行き渡っていて、国民の英語運用能力が高い点。非英語圏ではオランダほど英語が通じる国はない、と判断されている。
オランダには、大学ごとに強みのある分野がはっきりしていて、分野ごとに研究・教育のトップ大学は異なる。リソースが分散するので、大学の総合ランキングでは不利な要素になるけど、専攻ごとの強みをしっかり理解して大学選びをすれば、その分野で最良の環境で学ぶことができる。

オランダの理系大学のトップ立つ大学。ヨーロッパ全域を見ても、理系、特に工学系でヨーロッパのトップの一つ。
アイントホーフェン工科大学
オランダの理系大学では、総合でデルフト工科大学の次に来る大学。国際化の影響もあり、急激に評価を上げ、QSのCS専攻の評価ではデルフトを上回っている。英語で学べる専攻が多い。
